The life and times of Room 18

A normal week in Room 18 is never the same. We take learning opportunities as they arrive...(all while ensuring the curriculum is being covered ;-).

Here are some photos that capture the essence of these learning adventures.

In Physical Education we have been learning about rolls, holds and position. We LOVE performing our routines to the class.

We are researching food chains and food webs. We found this helpful when we went to the Groynes where we learnt first hand about herbivores and carnivores.

In science we have been honing our observation and recording skills. We are also trying to apply these skills in other learning areas. We have found we need to use these skill in art too. When blossom peeked out last week we took the opportunity to draw them.

With the BIG winds last week Mr Pike needed to remove a tree that was rotten at the bottom of the trunk. This was beyond exciting for us...we HAD to PEEK and PEEP at the tree removers. They were very skilful at climbing trees!

One of our writing sessions last week was a poem from Vernon Scannell. We really enjoyed the poem...and the games of hide and seek. Some of us could become professional hide and seekers - we are that good! Our poems are pretty amazing too. Feel free to come in and ask to read them.
