Cultural Day
On Tuesday Ilam had it's Cultural day because they have 62 different countries. It started at 9:30am.We marched in a parade around the University. And I went under the Ukrainian flag (Yellow and blue).
After morning tea we saw some amazing Performances!some from China ,India ,Italy, Scotland ,
Sri Lanka and more. I thought it was very brave to go up on stage and sing, dance or play an instrument. We stayed until lunch time.
You may have thought that it was an ordinary lunchtime but NO it WASN'T!! it was a shared lunch.Everyone brought a plate of food from their cultures I had Pavlova, cookies, sushi this is only a few things!!!
When the bell rang we had Room 6 come over for some Cultural crafts (Mexican tin art) then at 3:00pm the bell rang to
go home and Cultural Day was over!
Back home, wake up and back to a normal school day!

Cultural Day Magic
Cultural Day 2017
We had such a wonderful cultural day. The day was full of respect, positivity and kindness. As a class we spoke about and discussed how amazing Ilam School is due to the 62 different cultures we have here. What an amazing way to learn and grow! If Ilam was the World we would be in wonderful hands!
We can be proud of the children in Room 18, their curiosity of culture and the respectful way they learned from each other is something to be fostered and admired.
Below are some amazing photos of the class and wider celebrations. Enjoy!
